Our next grant writing training will be held on March, 18 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. In our last class we learned how to create a fund development plan. This week’s class helps participants understand how funders use the Form 990 (nonprofit tax return) as a way of evaluating the organization and the grant proposal, and how to create budgets that make sense.
Every grant requires a program budget, an annual budget for the organization, and sometimes projected budgets for coming years. If the budgets that you submit are inconsistent with the information reported on your tax form your application may look less credible. This class will help you understand the components of Form 990, understand how the 990 and proposed budget are linked, create a realistic program budget consistent with your organization’s Form 990. We suggest that you bring your laptop to take full advantage of hands on work.
Registration is required. Cost for the class is $29.
